This past weekend we attended the Write! Canada conference in Guelph, that is me, and my writing buddies.
How uplifting to be in such delightful company, to see friends – some who travelled great distances- and to give and receive hugs. Then there were newcomers, faces beaming with anticipation, wondering where God might lead them in their writing careers.
The Continuing classes and workshops were delivered by experts in the field of writing and I’m sure we all came away with increased knowledge of how to fine tune our craft: Except perhaps a good friend who sat opposite me in the editing class, I better not mention names, it might be considered libelous.
We were instructed to edit a piece in our work book and the deliberately muddled up sentences were so funny that first little explosive noises escaped our lips as we read. The noises got a little louder and we soon failed to suppress our laughter with tears streaming down our faces. We’ll just blame it on our instructor, after all she wrote the exercise for us. Ah well we all know laughter is good medicine.
Most likely God laughed with us.
Be blessed today. Hope you find something that will put a smile on your face.
